Design and Stability Analysis of an Offshore Floating Multi-Wind Turbine Platform

The multi-wind turbine platform technology has the potential to harness significant source of offshore wind energy in deep waters. However, wake interference between turbines on can cause a reduction power production; hence, it is important study effects initial phase design. This paper studies three different configurations find suitable configuration for multi-turbine platform. analytical Larsen model and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations are used evaluating effects. required determined based results effects, then novel designed. free-floating stability behavior analyzed using hydrostatic analysis modeled wave-body interaction waves predicted hydrodynamic analysis. A preliminary cost concept evaluated compared with single floating concept. showed that presented design promising enhance industry.
